Neutralizers Auto Backwash Water Filter Systems.
Neutralizer
Filters are used where low pH is a problem. It raises water
Ph which helps the oxygenation of iron. They are a must on water that
contain a Ph of 6.6 or lower in order for the iron filter to work
properly. Our neutralizer filters systems are equipped with high quality
resin and they are installed in the main water line prior to the iron
filter system. Installed according with the manufacturer recommendation,
the neutralizer system will stop the green/blue stains and to
reduce corrosion usually caused by acid water. The Neutralizer Filter are equipped with
Fleck 5600 or Fleck ProFlo Control Valve depending on the size of the
mineral tank for optimal performance. We
offer two types of filter media with our Neutralizer Backwash Filters.
This first type is calcite media for applications that contain acidic
water with Ph level greater than 5. The second type is a combination of
Calcite media and Corosex Media in a 50/50 ration. This second type of
media is suitable for application with Ph lower than 5. Our
Ph Neutralizer Backwash Filter come with calcite or calcite/corosex media
and under-bedding gravel.
The gravel is used as a support to keep smaller medias out of the
distribution system and to stop channeling of water. Acidic
water, on contact with calcite, slowly dissolve the calcium carbonate
media. This process raises the Ph which, in turn reduces the potential for
leaching of copper pipes, lead and other metals typically found plumbing
systems. Periodic backwashing will prevent packing and maintain high
service flow rates. Depending on Ph level and flow rate, the Calcite or
Calcite/Corosex bed will have to be periodically renew as original bed is
dissolved. As calcium carbonate is dissolve in the water, hardness will
increase. A water softener may be necessary after the neutralization
process.
