Birm Media Iron Manganese Removal Backwash Water Filter Systems.

Birm Iron Backwash Filters efficiently removes iron for applications where hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor) is NOT present, organic matters do not exceed 4 ppm and Ph level is greater than 6.8 The Birm Iron filter will also remove Manganese in applications where the Ph level is between 8 and 9. Operated under proper conditions, The Birm Iron Backwash filter requires no chemical for maintenance, regeneration is not required. Iron removal efficiency is extremely high, with only periodic backwashing required. The Birm Filter Media is a durable material with a long life and a wide temperature range.

Our Birm Backwash Filter are equipped with Fleck 5600 or 2510 Backwash Control Valve according with mineral tank size for optimal performance.

If the Iron presence in your water is 3 ppm or greater, you will need an air injector filter to increase the amount of oxygen in the water. Conditions For Operations:

Alkalinity should be greater than two times the combined sulfate and chloride concentration.
Maximum water temperature: 100 F
Water Ph Range: 6.8 - 9.0
Dissolved Oxygen content must be equal to at least 15% of the iron ( or iron and manganese content .
Free Chlorine concentration less than 0.5 ppm
Oil and Polyphosphates must not be present
